The heat rash can uncomfortable and itchy and can make your baby quite demanding if he gets it. Due to underdeveloped sweat glands, the sensitivity to heat rashes is particularly high in toddlers. Though people of all ages including youngsters and adults may develop a condition of heat rash. Fortunately most of the time, the heat rash goes away on its own with some home remedies, care and assistance from family members and does not have to involve medical attention.

Causes of Heat Rashes in Babies:

 Most commonly, heat rashes occur in humid and hot weather and, therefore, most of the babies suffer from heat rashes in summer. Wearing tight or warm clothes in humid weather makes it worse. Excessive sweating in humid weather can cause clogging of sweat glands, which in result in duping sweat and perspiration under the skin and result in red blisters. These blisters are also commonly known as prickly heat and miliaria.

Improper Clothing:

Improper and Tight clothing including blankets or raps and swaddles, can also cause heat rashes.
Heat rash can occasionally happen while kids are sleeping. Heat and perspiration could be trapped in, if nightclothes is bulky, coverings and bedspreads are too heavy, or the cloth doesn’t breathe.  Most of the time, this type of rash usually will not need any medical intervention and treatments and will go away on its own.

Uncomfortable Environment:

As babies are not in control of their environment and, therefore, sometimes they are kept in heat sources and their bodies can extensively heat up. As unable to change their clothes and running away from heat sources, prolong stay in non-friendly or uncomfortable environment can cause prickly heat and rashes in babies.

Babies’ body temperatures:

As compare to adults, the bodies of kids and children are not able to adjust their body temperatures effectively, and this deficiency in regulating body temperature can cause rashes. Heat and sweat can easily trap in babies’ bodies. As babies tend to have extra skin folds, sweat ducts in the skin are congested and blocked and sweat can’t get out, and that trapped in sweat creates fluid-filled bumps (heat rashes) all over babies’ skin.

Symptoms of Heat Rashes:

The only common symptom of heat rash in most babies is a rash on body parts that have had contacted to heat for prolong either by their skin folds, tight clothes or staying in hot temperatures.
The commonly seen symptoms include:
Sweat blister: Sometimes, the heat rashes appear like the trapped sweat blisters under skin folds. These types of blister are not looked irritated skin or appeared red, but these look like the beads of sweat.
Irritated skin: Mostly pinkish or red blister appears on the body parts of the babies when they suffer from heat rashes. And some babies have patches of skin, red and irritated which is also a symptom of heat rash.
Skin Color Blisters: In some toddlers and kids, the heat rashes appear as pimples like blisters. The skin color blisters are not red but feel like a deep pimple on the skin.
Pus filled blisters: If the blisters appeared on babies’ skin are infected, they probably are filled up with pus.
Itching: The babies feel the prickly sensation on their body, just as sunburn, and try to scratch their selves.

Affected body parts:

The above-stated symptoms of heat rash are usually seen on body parts including;
·         Neck
·         Under Arms
·         Arms folds
·         Leg folds
·         Nappy Area.
Due to thick skin folds and being covered in clothes all the time, these areas usually have clogged skin pores and cause heat rashes.
Even though babies can just get fussy and irritated but cannot complain about their sensations and symptoms, the symptoms of heat rash are common in infants as in adults.

Diagnosis by Professionals:

The physical examination of babies by a professional can diagnosis the heat rash and its complexity. The physician will ask about the clothing, body temperatures, setting and sleeping environments of baby and then looking at what the rash appears like is sufficient to make the diagnosis.
However, some times the health care provider will ask about the skin contact, family or parental history, baby’s history of any previous skin disease or rash which help to make the diagnosis.
