How to Prevent your baby from Coughs and Cold Learn Here.

Once your child starts mixing with other children, you can expect them to catch a fair number of colds.

While adults expect to catch about 3-4 colds a year, your little one has a chance of having around 10, due to the growing immune system.

What are the Symptoms of Coughs and Cold?
The symptoms of a common cold in babies are the same as for an adult, who are generally a runny or runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes and often a mild fever.

A cough often accompanies the cold, because there is a lot of mucus that irritates the neck. The first two days of cold are usually the worst and then your baby should gradually improve over the course of a week.

Because colds are caused by viruses, they do not respond to antibiotics. The cold virus is very infectious, so encourage your baby to slip and blow their nose into tissues, which can be easily removed.

Have the whole family wash their hands frequently to prevent germs from spreading.

Home Treatment of Coughs and Cold.
Your baby may be more tired than usual and may need extra time resting in bed or hiding on a couch.

Keeping the atmosphere warm and slightly humid in your child's resting room will help her breathe easier if her nose is blocked.

Try placing a non-breakable water container near the radiator to help moisten the air or use a vaporizer if you have one.

A few drops of decongestant oil, sprinkled on a pad and placed at your fingertips, but close to your child's head, will also help to relieve congestion. Another simple treatment is saline nasal drops, which can help clear the blocked noses. You can help your child clear his nasal passages by showing him how to blow a nostril at a time.

Your baby may not be hungry, but it is important to drink regularly so as to provide plenty of fluids, such as hot drinks, water, milk or well-diluted fruit juice.

If your child has febrile paracetamol or ibuprofen it may make them feel more comfortable. Take one type of medicine at a time and always follow the instructions on the correct dosage and frequency.

It is not recommended that children under the age of six be given anti-cold remedies as they do not work and could cause adverse reactions.

When to go to docter for baby cold?
if your child's cold symptoms worsen rather than better after a few days, or if her fever worsens.

If your child has severe pain, sore throat or breathing problems, you should seek urgent medical advice.

A runny nose can sometimes be the first sign of other infections: if your baby is not well, is drowsy, vomits, has a rash or other unusual symptoms check it without delay.

Coughs in Baby and its treatment.
Cough often accompanies a cold. There are two distinct types of cough - breast and dry.

A chest cough is caused by mucus accumulation and phlegm; coughing helps remove phlegm from the lungs and mucus from the back of the neck.
A dry or itchy cough is caused by irritation of the neck. It is a non-productive cough that does not lead to phlegm.

Coughs Treatment.
Cough medicines are not suitable for children under six years of age. A dry or prickly cough can be improved by making a drink with hot water, lemon and honey, which will help calm the cough.

Honey should only be given to children over 12 months. Always have your child brush their teeth after getting the syrup made at home.

A repetitive cough can be aided by breathing in hot and humid air; help your child take a bath or shower.
